On Sunday, thousands entered the Kai Tak Stadium for the finals of a university rugby sevens tournament, marking the venue's public debut.
Within the first hour, 4,300 attendees were recorded, with an expected total of 10,000 spectators participating in the event.
The tournament is part of a series of test events leading up to larger occasions, such as the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens and a concert by Coldplay.
Attendees expressed admiration for the stadium, highlighting the improved experience compared to the old venue, despite some concerns over high concession prices.
Notably, University of Hong Kong player Bridgette Liu made history by scoring the first try in the stadium's inaugural match.
