Joseph Steven Jorgenson, 41, has pleaded guilty to killing and dismembering two women found in separate storage units.
He is expected to be sentenced on February 28, facing two 40-year sentences for the deaths of Manijeh Starren and Fanta Xayavong.
Jorgenson will serve the sentences concurrently, and under Minnesota law, he will spend two-thirds in prison and one-third on supervised release.
The investigation was initiated following a missing persons report for Starren, leading police to link Jorgenson to the crime through various pieces of evidence.
Cops discovered Starren's dismembered remains in coolers and also uncovered evidence of a second victim, Xayavong, in a different storage locker.
