Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Tuesday the capture of a U.S. uncrewed underwater vehicle near the Strait of Hormuz, identifying it as the Dive-LD, a sophisticated autonomous system produced by Anduril Industries. The IRGC claimed the drone, described as one of the most advanced military tools operated by the United States, was intercepted while performing operations in the strategically significant maritime area, which is crucial for global oil transportation, according to South China Morning Post, Reuters, and India Times.

The Dive-LD is reported to weigh approximately three tonnes and can operate autonomously for up to ten days at depths of about 6,000 metres (19,700 feet).
