George and Amal Clooney have evacuated their luxury estate in Brignoles, a move prompted by rapidly spreading wildfires threatening the southeastern region of France. The couple, along with their nine-year-old twins, expressed their concerns about their home, stating they are uncertain whether it will survive, according to BBC, Reuters, and Africanews.

The Clooneys communicated with the town's mayor, Didier Bremond, emphasizing their affection for Brignoles and asserting their commitment to help the community rebuild regardless of the outcome for their home. "We love Brignoles and our friends who live there," they stated in their letter, which was confirmed by local officials, according to Reuters and Le Monde.

France is currently experiencing one of its worst wildfire seasons, with one blaze already having destroyed over 42,000 hectares. In the Brignoles area alone, around 130 hectares have burned, resulting in evacuations of more than 600 residents, according to Africanews and LA Times. Firefighters remain on site battling the flames with support from water-bombing helicopters.
