Netanyahu Successfully Treated for Early-Stage Prostate Cancer

Credited from: BBC

  • Netanyahu treated for early-stage prostate cancer, now in "excellent physical condition."
  • Delayed release of his health information to avoid propaganda from Iran.
  • Successful treatment involved targeted radiation therapy; tumor discovered during routine check.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he was successfully treated for early-stage prostate cancer. In a post on X, he stated that a "tiny spot of less than a centimeter" was discovered during routine medical monitoring following surgery for a benign prostate enlargement. He described himself as being "in excellent physical condition" after the treatment, which effectively removed the tumor and left no trace of it, according to BBC and Channel News Asia.

Netanyahu, 76, revealed he had delayed the publication of his medical report to prevent Iran from exploiting the information for propaganda. "When I'm given information in time about a potential danger, I want to address it immediately," he stated, underscoring a proactive approach both personally and nationally, as reported by Middle East Eye and CBS News.

His medical report indicated that the treatment involved radiation therapy, although neither he nor the report specified when the treatment occurred. In light of his diagnosis being at an early stage, the director of Hadassah Hospital's oncology unit affirmed that "the disease has disappeared," based on medical evaluations, according to Al Jazeera and CBS News.

Speculation about Netanyahu's health increased amid military tensions with Iran. In March, he appeared publicly to dispel rumors about his condition after misrepresentations circulated, including fake images suggesting he had died, as noted by multiple sources including Middle East Eye and BBC.
