Ford Motor Company is recalling 295,449 diesel-engine trucks due to a defective fuel pump that poses a crash risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The defect could lead to loss of power, with symptoms such as extended crank during start-up and reduced engine power.
This recall affects various truck models, including the 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty F-Series and 2021-2022 Ford F-650 and F-750.
Ford will update the powertrain control module software at no charge, with notification letters slated for mailing on January 13, 2025.
This is one of several recalls announced by Ford, which includes issues with battery failures in certain SUVs and faulty rear-view cameras.
