Titan Farms, a major South Carolina peach grower, is accused of illegally deducting funds from over 1,300 seasonal foreign workers for political donations.
The U.S. Department of Labor revealed that these deductions caused workers' pay to fall below the legally required rate of $11.13 per hour.
In total, Titan Farms owes approximately $338,446 to affected workers, with efforts ongoing to locate 617 individuals still owed $132,308.
The company has also faced a $2,850 fine for other labor violations, including unsafe transportation practices.
Titan Farms did not respond to requests for comment, but expressed pride in participating in the H-2A worker program.
