The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in Bangladesh has issued arrest warrants for Sheikh Hasina and 11 others.
This action pertains to their alleged involvement in enforced disappearances during the Awami League government's rule.
This is the second warrant issued against Hasina, amid increasing calls for accountability regarding her government's actions.
The tribunal has mandated the accused to be arrested and presented on February 12, however, India's response to the extradition request remains pending.
The ICT chief prosecutor alleges that the disappearances occurred under Hasina's supervision and have requested Interpol's assistance in her arrest.
