MELBOURNE, Australia — Tennis star Naomi Osaka announced on Monday that she and rapper Cordae have ended their relationship, just days before the Australian Open begins. Through her Instagram story, Osaka shared, “Hi everyone, just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer in a relationship. No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and an awesome dad.”
The couple, who began dating in 2019 and welcomed their daughter Shai in July 2023, emphasized their amicable separation. Osaka noted, “Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing,” highlighting how they grew from their experiences together.
As both co-parents, they are adjusting to their new dynamic post-split. USA TODAY reported on the supportive nature of their relationship, describing how they respect each other’s opinions and aim for what’s best for their daughter. Osaka was recently seen competing in Auckland before withdrawing due to an injury.
With her career still on an upward trajectory, Osaka is a four-time Grand Slam champion and remains an inspirational figure in sports.
