An **investigation** has begun after a private jet carrying a college basketball team was ordered to stop near a runway at **Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)**.
The incident occurred around **4:30 p.m.** on Friday when air traffic controllers instructed the chartered flight from Spokane, Wash., to hold short of a runway.
The **FAA** reported that the Embraer E135 jet operated by **Key Lime Air** crossed the hold bars, prompting urgent commands from air traffic control.
The jet, carrying **Gonzaga University's** men's basketball team, did not cross the runway edge line, and **Key Lime Air** is expected to provide more information.
During the busy **holiday season**, LAX is anticipating over **3.2 million passengers** from December 19 to January 2.
