Goa has achieved the lowest child stunting rate in India, recorded at 5.8%, as stated by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
The condition of stunting indicates a child's height is significantly lower than expected for their age, often due to undernourishment.
Additionally, Goa shows excellent results in other nutrition metrics, with 0.9% of children affected by wasting and 2.2% classified as underweight.
The state is also implementing comprehensive measures against tuberculosis, emphasizing rapid molecular testing for diagnosis at primary health centers.
Goa is contributing to the national "100 Days of TB Elimination" drive, earning recognitions as "TB Mukt" for certain panchayats.
