Steve Bannon is escalating his attack on Elon Musk, threatening violence over recent comments regarding immigration policies. The rift among MAGA supporters traces back to Musk's proposal to protect immigrants holding H1-B visas, which has incited outrage among hardline conservatives like Bannon and fellow Trump loyalist Laura Loomer, who argue that foreign workers should be replaced with "real" Americans.
In a recent episode of his War Room podcast, Bannon explicitly warned Musk, stating, “Don’t come up and go to the pulpit and... start lecturing people about the way things are going to be... If you’re going to do that, we’re going to rip your face off.” This stark warning follows Musk's response to a post claiming that Americans are too “retarded” to occupy all tech roles, where Musk defended the necessity of H1-B visas for his companies.
Musk shot back at critics over the weekend, asserting, “The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla, and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B,” and concluded with a fiery directive: “Take a big step back and F--- YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.”
Bannon did not hold back in his aggression, further targeting Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, the billionaire’s co-chair for the “Department of Government Efficiency” and an H1-B proponent. "Right now, I say we must demand a moratorium on all immigration," he reiterated on his podcast. This statement echoes a broader ideological divide within the MAGA movement regarding immigration.
Interestingly, while Bannon has taken a hardline stance against Musk's views, former President Donald Trump has sided with Musk, praising the visas as essential. "I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them,” Trump stated.
This schism within the Republican party raises concerns about the future unity of the MAGA movement, as long-standing allies appear to part ways over critical issues.
