Hong Kong is predicted to experience warmer but drier weather in the next three months, according to the latest report from the city’s meteorological agency.
The Observatory reported that December was characterized by almost no rainfall, with only traces recorded, marking it as one of the driest Decembers since records began in 1884.
Monthly mean temperature for December was 18.5 degrees Celsius, which is 0.3 degrees above normal, indicating a trend of normal to above-normal temperatures expected from January to March.
Forecasts suggest a higher likelihood of below-normal rainfall in the upcoming months, with annual rainfall totals also being about five percent below the norm.
Additionally, during December, the city experienced 199.5 hours of bright sunshine, significantly exceeding the average.
