An Air Canada Express flight faced a critical incident at Halifax Stanfield International Airport when it experienced a suspected landing gear issue shortly after landing. The incident occurred on Saturday night at approximately 9:30 p.m., as the flight, purportedly AC2259, operated by PAL Airlines, arrived from St. John's, Newfoundland.

According to AP News, the aircraft was unable to reach the terminal following the issue, resulting in the evacuation of the 73 passengers via bus. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported, although minor injuries were noted, as stated by the Nova Scotia Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Passengers reported alarming experiences during the incident. One passenger, Nikki Valentine, recounted to CNN that they witnessed flames emerge from the left side of the aircraft shortly after the difficulties began. Valentine mentioned, "The plane shook quite a bit and we started seeing fire on the left side of the plane and smoke started coming in the windows."

Subsequent to the incident, the airport temporarily suspended operations. ABC News highlighted that the airfield was closed for around 90 minutes, causing several flight diversions and cancellations. One runway has resumed regular operations, while the Transportation Safety Board of Canada has begun an investigation into the incident.
