President-elect Donald Trump has announced that Tammy Bruce, a former Fox News contributor, will take on the role of spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State. This appointment comes as Bruce joins the incoming administration alongside Marco Rubio, nominated to be Secretary of State.

In a post on his platform 'Truth Social', Trump expressed his honor in naming Bruce to the position: “It is my great honor to announce that Tammy Bruce will be joining our incredible Nominee for United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, as Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State” (The Hill).

Trump praised Bruce as a “highly respected political analyst”, emphasizing her recognition of the significance of the "MAGA" movement from early on. He noted that Bruce had shifted from being a liberal activist to a notable conservative voice, citing her extensive experience in media. The president remarked that Bruce has been an integral part of providing the truth to the American people for over two decades, stating, “I know she will bring that same strength of conviction and fearless spirit to her new position” (India Times).

Bruce, who has a rich background in both media and political activism, received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California. She had been a political contributor for Fox News since 2005 and gained fame through her show, “The Tammy Bruce Show”, which transitioned to online streaming in 2009. Bruce’s commentary has appeared in several prominent publications, contributing to her reputation as a leading conservative voice in American politics.

Her political history includes previous affiliations with the Democratic Party, from which she departed in 2008 to pursue a more independent path. Bruce has openly supported prominent Republican figures, including former Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush and has served on the transition team of former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Throughout her career, Bruce has advocated for issues like workplace equality and Second Amendment rights, having once been the president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women. Her work reflects what she sees as the misleading narratives of the left, driving her efforts to counter their agenda in her new capacity at the State Department.
