Goa's tourism department reported a significant 27% increase in domestic arrivals during the Christmas and New Year period compared to 2023.
Dabolim airport managed 1.2 lakh arrivals from 683 domestic flights and 4,700 passengers on 27 international flights.
The state generated an additional Rs 75.5 crore in revenue in December 2024, contributing to a total revenue of Rs 4,614.8 crore from April to December.
Despite reports of deserted streets and negative claims about tourism, the government maintained that Goa remains a top destination for tourists.
Tourism minister Rohan Khaunte emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance the tourism experience and address future challenges.
