  • Officers pulled over the vehicle on Highway 99 in Madera County, where the driver was found to be under the influence and in possession of cannabis.
  • In addition to the serious charges, a baby monkey was discovered in the driver's seat, raising concerns as spider monkeys are illegal to possess in California.
  • The baby monkey was taken into possession by the CHP and transferred to the Oakland Zoo for care.
