Conservative commentator Katie Zacharia has been offered the role of White House press secretary, a position that has been vacant since Karoline Leavitt's departure in August, according to CBS News and BBC.
Zacharia has previously served as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security and currently works as a communications adviser for Trump Media & Technology Group with frequent appearances on Fox News, reports Al Jazeera and BBC.
This development comes as the White House prepares for another transition in its communications strategy, following Leavitt's move to Fox News, according to CBS News and Al Jazeera.
