At just 11 years old, Yuki Kurihara made history by winning a gold medal in esports at the Asian Games, becoming the youngest athlete ever to achieve this in Japan's participation in the Games. His victory in the Puyo Puyo Champions final saw him defeat South Korea's 24-year-old Kang Dongshin with a score of 10-2 after previously besting Thailand’s 28-year-old Tanarak Wongkitkun 10-1 in the semi-finals, securing at least a silver medal before the final match, according to SCMP and Al Jazeera.
