The consortium is led by Amit Bhatia, the son-in-law of steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, and also includes Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin. As stated in the reports, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), which has owned Liverpool since 2010, could announce the deal within this week, according to Reuters, Channel News Asia, and Al Jazeera.
FSG has explored outside investment options while maintaining control of the club, as they have witnessed significant appreciation in Liverpool's value during their tenure.
