  • Chris Brown pleads guilty to affray in a London court.
  • Assault charges against Brown and his co-defendant were dropped.
  • Sentencing is scheduled for October 26, 2026.
  • The incident involved a bottle attack on music producer Abraham Diaw.
  • Prosecutors called the attack "vicious and unprovoked."

US singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to the charge of affray at Southwark Crown Court regarding an incident at a London nightclub in February 2023, where he assaulted music producer Abraham Diaw. Alongside Brown, his co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, a vocal coach, also pleaded guilty to the same charge. Originally, they faced more serious charges, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, which have now been dropped, according to BBC and Independent.

The incident reportedly involved Brown striking Diaw with a glass bottle on the dancefloor of the Tape private members’ club, with Akinlolu joining in the attack. After the guilty plea, the prosecution announced that they would not pursue the more severe charges, which included attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm, according to Reuters and Channel News Asia.

Brown, who was released on bail after agreeing to a £5 million security fee, is scheduled for sentencing on October 26, 2026. He has faced significant legal challenges as this plea relates to an event that led to injuries for the victim, which the Crown Prosecution Service described as a "vicious and unprovoked attack," according to Independent and BBC.
