At least 24 people have died after a passenger bus plunged into the Padma River while attempting to board a ferry in central Bangladesh. The accident occurred at the Daulatdia ferry terminal around 5 PM, leading to a rescue operation involving multiple fire service units and divers, supported by local authorities and the army, according to aa and Reuters.
Divers managed to recover 22 bodies from inside the submerged vehicle, which had held around 40 passengers. Reports indicate that among the deceased are six men, 11 women, and five children, while two women died post-rescue.
