  • Family offers up to $1 million reward for information on Nancy Guthrie's whereabouts.
  • Police believe the 84-year-old was a victim of a targeted kidnapping.
  • Authorities have received over 40,000 tips in connection with the case.
  • The family has expressed hope but also acknowledged the possibility that Nancy may not be alive.
  • The Guthrie family has pledged $500,000 to assist other missing persons cases.

Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of NBC's "Today" show, announced that her family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the recovery of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing since February 1, according to CBS News and BBC. In an emotional social media video, Savannah expressed deep concern, stating, "She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves."

The 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her Tucson home, with police suspecting she was kidnapped. Investigators released surveillance footage showing a masked man outside her residence on the night of her disappearance, as reported by Reuters and SCMP. Savannah Guthrie expressed hope for a miracle but acknowledged that the situation could be dire.

The investigation has drawn significant interest, with nearly 40,000 tips received and the FBI offering a separate $100,000 reward for information, according to CBS News and Reuters. Officials are particularly concerned because Nancy requires daily medication. The family has also contributed $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
