  • Donald Trump threatens to sue Trevor Noah for making a joke about Epstein at the Grammys.
  • Trump denied ever visiting Epstein Island or being involved in any of its activities.
  • Noah made the comments while hosting the Grammy Awards, marking his last year as host.
  • Trump described the Grammy Awards as "the WORST," criticizing both the show and Noah.
  • This incident follows recent releases of documents related to Epstein's case mentioning Trump.

US President Donald Trump has reacted strongly to a joke made by comedian Trevor Noah during the 68th Grammy Awards, where Noah suggested Trump needed a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton now that Epstein's island is gone. Following the comment, Trump announced plans to sue Noah, characterizing the Grammy Awards as “the WORST” and “virtually unwatchable” according to Indiatimes, South China Morning Post, and BBC.

Trevor Noah, in his closing years as the Grammy host, quipped that winning a Grammy is as coveted as Trump wanting to acquire Greenland. This joke was lighthearted but included a jab at the networks Trump connects to Epstein, stating that since Epstein is gone, he needs a new place to visit with Clinton, which drew Trump’s ire. Trump vehemently denied the allegations suggesting he had ever visited Epstein Island, stating he has never been accused of it until Noah's remarks according to Channel News Asia and Los Angeles Times.

Following his outburst, Trump stated on his Truth Social account: “Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!” He called Noah a “total loser” and indicated he would be seeking legal redress for the allegedly defamatory comments. Furthermore, Trump warned Noah, “Get ready, I’m going to have some fun with you!” highlighting the aggressive tone of his defense according to Indiatimes and South China Morning Post.

This legal threat by Trump is part of a broader history of legal battles he has engaged in with various media outlets. Trump has often characterized media coverage he perceives as critical or erroneous as fake news, and he has initiated legal proceedings following such coverage in the past, as reported by BBC and Los Angeles Times.
