  • Spain will host the final of the 2030 World Cup, according to its football federation president.
  • The tournament will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.
  • The final's location is still subject to FIFA's approval.
  • Spain has proven its organizational capacity and plans to showcase its readiness.
  • Morocco has expressed interest in hosting the final in Casablanca.

Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) President Rafael Louzan announced that Spain will host the final of the 2030 World Cup, which is being co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. He emphasized, "Spain has proven its organisational capacity over many years. It will be the leader of the 2030 World Cup and the final of that World Cup will be held here," during an event organized by the Madrid Sports Press Association, according to Reuters and Al Jazeera.

While Morocco has proposed that the final take place in Casablanca at the Grand Stade Hassan II, expected to hold 115,000 spectators upon its completion in 2028, Louzan did not specify if Spain's leading candidates for the final, Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu or Barcelona's Camp Nou, would be chosen. FIFA stated that it is premature to finalize the host city for the 2030 final, as similar decisions were made closer to the event in the past, as noted by BBC and Reuters.

Louzan referred to the recent challenges Morocco faced during its hosting of the Africa Cup of Nations, mentioning that scenes during the final were damaging to world football’s image. "Morocco is really undergoing a transformation in every sense, with magnificent stadiums," he stated, while recognizing the need to improve organizational aspects, according to BBC and Al Jazeera.

FIFA, along with the Moroccan and Portuguese football federations, have yet to confirm the final's venue, emphasizing that decisions will be made closer to the date of the tournament. Spain has put forward 11 stadiums for the event, while Morocco is expected to utilize six and Portugal three, further building up anticipation for the centennial event, as noted by Reuters and BBC.
