Europe is currently facing significant transport disruptions as a severe cold snap continues, with snow, ice, and high winds causing chaos for a third consecutive day. Major airports in Paris and Amsterdam are particularly affected, with over 1,000 passengers stranded overnight at Schiphol Airport, one of Europe's busiest hubs, according to Channel News Asia and The Local.

Six deaths have been confirmed due to weather-related incidents across the continent, with five occurring in France. Meanwhile, a woman in Bosnia succumbed to the severe conditions as heavy snow and rain contributed to flooding and power outages in the Balkans, according to South China Morning Post and The Local.

The disruption includes over 100 flight cancellations at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and 40 at Orly Airport. Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot expressed hopes for a return to normalcy soon; however, all public bus services in Paris and surrounding areas have been suspended due to icy road conditions. Almost half of mainland France is currently on alert for heavy snow and black ice, according to Channel News Asia and South China Morning Post.

In Britain, the cold snap has led to plunging temperatures, forcing hundreds of schools to close for the third day in Scotland, where some rural communities are at risk of being isolated by snow. The Eurostar rail service linking London with Europe has also seen disruptions, contributing to widespread cancellations, according to The Local and South China Morning Post.

Nordic countries are not exempt from the severe weather, with eastern Sweden officials warning of potential power cuts due to heavy snowfall. In the western Swedish city of Gothenburg, trams have been suspended, and residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel. In Denmark, authorities in North Jutland cautioned of heavy snowfall while reassuring that the situation remains under control, according to Channel News Asia and South China Morning Post.
