  • Russell Brand faces two new charges: one count of rape and one sexual assault.
  • The allegations involve two additional women, adding to existing charges.
  • Brand's trial for previous five charges is scheduled for June 2026.
  • He has pleaded not guilty to earlier accusations dating back to 1999.
  • Initial allegations against him surfaced in September 2023.

Russell Brand has been charged with two additional offenses, including one count of rape and one of sexual assault, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Police. These new charges relate to allegations from two more women, which supplement the existing five charges Brand faced earlier this year involving four other women. He is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on January 20, 2026, regarding these new allegations, according to BBC, Reuters, and Los Angeles Times.

Initially, Brand had pleaded not guilty to five charges brought against him in April 2025, which included two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault stemming from incidents between 1999 and 2005. The latest charges are tied to alleged incidents occurring between February and December of 2009 related to different women. A trial for these original charges is scheduled to begin at Southwark Crown Court on June 16, 2026, as reported by BBC and Reuters.

Allegations against Brand gained significant media attention after investigations by the Times of London and Channel 4's Dispatches revealed numerous accusations of sexual misconduct from 2006 to 2013. Following these revelations, Brand publicly addressed the situation, stating he felt a need for atonement regarding "many things... that I did wrong,” and scheduled hearings are expected to unfold as these serious allegations progress through the court system, according to Los Angeles Times.
