  • India's National Investigating Agency arrests Amir Rashid Ali as an accomplice in the Delhi car blast.
  • The explosion killed 10 and left 32 injured near the Red Fort.
  • Authorities have linked Ali to suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi, further escalating tensions in Kashmir.

India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced the arrest of Amir Rashid Ali, an accomplice of the alleged suicide bomber involved in a recent car explosion in New Delhi. The blast, which occurred near the historic Red Fort, resulted in the deaths of at least 10 people and injuries to 32 others. Ali allegedly conspired with the bomber, Umar Un Nabi, a teaching faculty member from Kashmir, to carry out the attack, classified by officials as a "heinous terror incident" carried out by "anti-national forces," according to Channel News Asia, South China Morning Post, and Anadolu Agency.

The NIA's investigation revealed that Ali had traveled from Indian-controlled Kashmir to facilitate the purchase of the vehicle that was turned into an improvised explosive device (IED). Amid extensive raids across Kashmir, officials have linked this incident to previous militant activities, further intensifying government scrutiny in the region, as reported by South China Morning Post and Channel News Asia.

In an ongoing crackdown, additional suspects are being pursued, including those believed to have provided logistical and technical support for prior attacks. The Indian government emphasized their commitment to addressing terrorist threats, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi labeling the attacks as part of a broader conspiracy and vowing to bring all involved to justice, according to Channel News Asia and Anadolu Agency.

As the investigation continues, the NIA revealed the death toll from the blast could potentially increase as additional information emerges. The situation remains tense in Kashmir, with ongoing concerns regarding safety and security in the region following multiple incidents of violence, as stated by South China Morning Post and Channel News Asia.
