An armed man was arrested at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, where a memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk is scheduled for Sunday. The individual, identified as Joshua Runkles, 42, was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and carrying a weapon into a prohibited area, after being stopped for displaying "suspicious behavior," according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the U.S. Secret Service (USSS). Runkles has since been released on bond, according to CBS News and ABC News.

Law enforcement officials revealed that Runkles approached agents at the stadium and falsely claimed to be a member of law enforcement. Upon further investigation, authorities determined that he was not affiliated with any law enforcement agency working the event.
