Turkish Deputy Minister Omer Fatih Sayan confirmed the issue and noted that the local internet monitor had requested a technical report from Google regarding the disruption, according to Reuters and AA.
User feedback on monitoring site DownDetector indicated that the surge of service complaints began around 10:00 a.m. local time. It affected a broad range of Google services, from Chrome to Google Translate, impacting users in more than 38 countries, including Turkey, Armenia, and Germany. "During the outage, we received reports from Türkiye, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Netherlands, Germany, and other locations," noted a related report from AA and Newsweek.
The initial reports of service disruptions showed a peak around 10:00 a.m., with the bulk of issues resolving by approximately 11:00 a.m. local time. Users reported intermittent access challenges across various platforms, causing inconvenience for millions dependent on these services for work and daily activities.
