  • Chloe Malle appointed as head of editorial content at Vogue, succeeding Anna Wintour.
  • Malle has worked at Vogue for 14 years, previously overseeing digital content and a podcast.
  • Anna Wintour remains at Vogue as global editorial director and chief content officer.

Chloe Malle has officially been named Vogue's new head of editorial content, taking over from the iconic Anna Wintour, who held her position for nearly 40 years. Malle, who is the daughter of actress Candice Bergen and director Louis Malle, has been with the magazine for 14 years, serving most recently as editor of Vogue.com and co-host of the podcast "The Run-Through" according to HuffPost, CBS News, and Reuters.

Wintour, aged 75, will continue to retain her powerful role as global editorial director and chief content officer of Condé Nast, the parent company of Vogue. While Wintour has stepped back from the title of editor-in-chief, she will still oversee all major content strategies at Vogue and its sister publications including Vanity Fair, Indiatimes, and Le Monde.

Malle’s appointment comes just in time for New York Fashion Week, starting September 11. This transition marks a significant evolution in Vogue's direction as the publication continues to adapt to the fast-changing landscape of media and fashion. Malle indicated her excitement in this new chapter, stating, "Fashion and media are both evolving at breakneck speed, and I am so thrilled – and awed – to be part of that" according to SCMP, India Times, and Al Jazeera.

Throughout her career at Vogue, Malle has curated significant projects, including a notable wedding shoot featuring Naomi Biden and an interview with Lauren Sanchez ahead of her wedding to Jeff Bezos. Wintour's legacy includes transforming Vogue into a cultural powerhouse, balancing between high fashion and pop culture. Malle’s fresh perspective may further enhance the magazine’s evolution as she takes charge according to Business Insider and Channel News Asia.
