Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's convicted associate, denied witnessing any inappropriate conduct by President Donald Trump during her interviews with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. According to transcripts released by the Justice Department (DOJ), Maxwell claimed, “I never witnessed the President in any inappropriate setting in any way. The President was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects,” reflecting an effort to distance Trump from the ongoing Epstein scandal, according to ABC News, CBS News, Reuters, and LA Times.
Maxwell's interview, conducted over two days in July, involved extensive questioning about her relationships with Epstein and various high-profile individuals, including Trump and former President Bill Clinton. In her statements, she emphasized Trump’s respectful behavior, asserting that she had not seen him in any private settings with Epstein. Moreover, she remarked, “He seemed friendly with Epstein, but I only remember seeing them together in social settings,” according to HuffPost, Channel News Asia, and Al Jazeera.
In addition to her remarks about Trump, Maxwell categorically denied the existence of any "client list" linked to Epstein and dismissed claims of blackmail operations. She stated, “There is no list that I am aware of,” reinforcing her claims amid various conspiracy theories surrounding Epstein's activities and the potential involvement of other powerful figures, which had been highlighted in past discussions by Le Monde, Newsweek, and Dawn.
Maxwell's claims come at a politically sensitive time, particularly for Trump, as the Justice Department has faced criticism for its handling of related records. The transcripts were part of an effort to show transparency amid ongoing investigations into Epstein’s prior interactions with various influential figures. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in Epstein's trafficking operations, and her comments are expected to reignite debates about accountability and the integrity of powerful individuals connected to Epstein, as emphasized in reports from India Times and India Times.
