  • Trump calls Netanyahu a 'war hero' for actions against Iran.
  • He claims the same title for himself, citing airstrikes he ordered.
  • Trump also mentions 'settling six wars' during his presidency.
  • Critics, including veterans, express outrage at his assertions.
  • Trump's remarks come amid ongoing conflicts and military discussions.

In a recent interview with conservative commentator Mark Levin, President Donald Trump referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a "war hero," adding that he believed he deserved the same designation. Trump stated, "He's a war hero because we worked together. I guess I am, too," during a discussion on joint military efforts against Iran, specifically referencing U.S. airstrikes aimed at Iranian nuclear facilities in June, according to Newsweek and India Times.

Trump's assertion came as he touted his foreign policy achievements, claiming to have "settled six wars" since taking office. He asserted, "I wiped out their total nuclear capability," highlighting his role in the military operations against Iran which echoed in multiple comments he made during the interview, according to HuffPost and India Times.

Critics have responded sharply to Trump's comments, particularly veterans like former Congressman Adam Kinzinger, who expressed disbelief at Trump's self-assessment. Kinzinger remarked, "to put himself on the same level of people that have actually gone out and served this country... is an offense to anybody who served," highlighting the controversy surrounding Trump's military experience, or lack thereof, according to HuffPost and Newsweek.
