  • Jasveen Sangha, the "ketamine queen," pleads guilty to drug charges in Perry's death.
  • The plea follows another defendant's guilty plea in the same case.
  • Perry's death was ruled as a drowning caused by ketamine use.

Jasveen Sangha, known as the "ketamine queen," has agreed to plead guilty to charges related to supplying the drug that resulted in the death of "Friends" actor Matthew Perry. This decision comes as part of an agreement with federal prosecutors, and she had been due to go to trial in September, according to Reuters, Bangkok Post, and India Times.

Sangha is one of five individuals charged in connection with Perry's death. Another defendant, Dr. Salvador Plasencia, pleaded guilty to four counts of illegal distribution of ketamine just weeks prior. The charges against Sangha include five federal offenses, according to Reuters and India Times.

An autopsy revealed that Perry, who died on October 28, 2023, drowned in his hot tub due to the acute effects of ketamine, among other contributing factors. At the time of his death, he was 54 years old and had a longstanding history of substance abuse, having openly discussed his struggles for many years, according to Reuters and Bangkok Post.
