  • Militants blew up a gas pipeline in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
  • The explosion suspended gas supply to Punjab's Mianwali region.
  • This marked the fourth attack on the same pipeline location in three months.
  • Security forces are searching for the attackers, with TTP suspected.

On Wednesday, terrorists detonated explosives on a major gas pipeline in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Lakki Marwat district, disrupting gas supply to Punjab, particularly affecting the Mianwali region. According to Dawn, a police spokesperson confirmed that this was the fourth incident at the same location in less than three months.

Following the explosion, police and bomb disposal units initiated search operations to apprehend the culprits. No group has claimed responsibility yet, but security forces suspect the involvement of the outlawed group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), known for frequent attacks on security installations, as reported by AA and TRT Global.

Lakki Marwat has historically been a hotspot for militant activity and violence, with TTP militants targeting security forces, especially police. According to police reports, recent incidents have heightened concerns about a resurgence of terrorism in the region, as detailed by Dawn, AA, and TRT Global.
