In a peculiar incident on July 30, an osprey accidentally ignited a brush fire in Ashcroft, British Columbia, after it dropped a fish on power lines, according to HuffPost. Firefighters noted that the bird likely dropped the fish due to tiredness from the heat.

The Ashcroft Fire Rescue service humorously suggested, “Another suspicion could be that it’s tired of raw fish and wanted to give cooked a try,” as they posted images of the charred fish on their social media, according to South China Morning Post and CBS News.

The brush fire, which occurred about 4 miles south of Ashcroft, briefly knocked out power in the area as firefighters and local ranchers worked together to extinguish it using nearly 4,800 gallons of water, according to HuffPost and South China Morning Post.

The fire department confirmed that the osprey sustained no injuries during the incident and humorously noted on social media that the bird is being held in custody for questioning, as reported by CBS News.
