New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch detailed the sequence of events, stating that Tamura left a double-parked black BMW armed with an M4 carbine as he entered the building, immediately opening fire on Officer Islam, who was providing security for the building, followed by other victims inside the lobby.
