Last week, unreleased music by Beyoncé was stolen from a rental vehicle in Atlanta. Police reports indicate that five hard drives containing "water marked music, some unreleased music, footage plans for the show, and past and future set lists" were taken from a car driven by Beyoncé's choreographer, Christopher Grant, along with other valuable items including computers and designer clothing. The theft occurred while Grant and dancer Diandre Blue were dining nearby, according to CBS News and BBC.
The incident occurred on July 8, just two days before Beyoncé's scheduled performances in Atlanta as part of her Cowboy Carter tour. Grant and Blue reported to the police that the theft was discovered after they returned to their parked Black Jeep Wagoneer, which had its rear window smashed. Stolen items also included personal laptops and luxury accessories, highlighting the severity of the loss for the artist's team, as per reports by HuffPost.
Authorities have responded to the incident by issuing an arrest warrant for a suspect linked to the theft, though no arrests have been made, and the suspect's identity remains undisclosed. Their investigation has included attempts to track the stolen items using technology from the laptops and headphones taken, but it is unclear if any items have been recovered so far, stated BBC and HuffPost.
Despite this setback, Beyoncé continued her performances in Atlanta, with the last show of her tour in the city planned for July 14. She has been on tour since April, following a successful Grammy win for Album of the Year, illustrating her ongoing impact and prominence in the music industry, as reported by CBS News and HuffPost.
