Brian Johnson, the social media influencer known as "Liver King," was arrested on charges of making a "terroristic threat" in Texas. The arrest occurred on June 25 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin after Johnson posted videos on Instagram challenging podcast host Joe Rogan to a fight. In these posts, he stated, "Joe Rogan, I'm calling you out... I'm picking a fight with you. Your rules, I'll come to you, whenever you're ready," despite having no martial arts training, according to Newsweek and The Hill.
The Austin Police acted after determining that Johnson's online posts were continuing while he was traveling to Austin. Detectives reached out to Rogan, who stated that he had not interacted with Johnson and considered the posts as threats. Consequently, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Johnson, leading to his detention at the hotel, as reported by ABC News and Los Angeles Times.
Johnson remains in custody at the Travis County Jail, charged with a Class B misdemeanor. His bond has been set at $20,000, and further investigations are ongoing. Videos posted by Johnson on his social media show moments before his arrest and his erratic behavior during this period, including a clip where he seems to prepare for the police intervention, according to Los Angeles Times and The Hill.
