Poland's largest game developer, CD Projekt, announced on Thursday the launch of "Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition" for the Nintendo Switch 2, making it the first time the title is available to Nintendo players. The release aligns with the official launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which offers significant improvements over its predecessor, such as enhanced graphics and a more powerful processor, according to Reuters and Channel News Asia.
The game's price has been set at $69.99, reflecting the ongoing trend where developers increasingly depend on back catalogue sales due to a slowdown in new game releases. This trend was also noted recently by other developers, such as Embracer, which are similarly turning to past titles for cash flow, as emphasized by India Times and Reuters.
Analysts like Krzysztof Tkocz from Erste Group have suggested that the release will positively impact CD Projekt's financial results in the coming quarters. There is significant anticipation for the Switch 2, with gaming fans queuing ahead of its launch, and Trigon DM analyst Grzegorz Balcerski stated, "We expect that this could be one of the most popular 3rd party games at the launch of the new console," according to Channel News Asia and India Times.
