  • Simone Inzaghi has left his role as Inter Milan's manager after a 5-0 loss to PSG.
  • Inzaghi's tenure saw him win six trophies, including one Serie A title.
  • Al-Hilal from the Saudi Pro League is reportedly interested in hiring Inzaghi.
  • Inter Milan will need to appoint a new manager before the FIFA Club World Cup.

Simone Inzaghi has left his position as manager of Inter Milan just three days after a humiliating 5-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. The Serie A club confirmed his departure via a mutual agreement, marking the end of Inzaghi’s four-year tenure at the San Siro, during which he led the team to numerous victories, including one Serie A title, two Coppa Italia trophies, and three Supercoppa Italiana titles, according to Channel News Asia, Reuters, and BBC.

Following the disastrous final, the club faced a disappointing end to the season, finishing second in Serie A and exiting from the Coppa Italia semi-finals against city rivals AC Milan. Inzaghi expressed his sentiments on his departure, emphasizing, "The time has come for me to say goodbye to this club after a four-year journey, during which I gave everything," and dedicated his farewell to the supporters, according to Reuters and Al Jazeera.

Inzaghi is expected to join Saudi club Al-Hilal, which has reportedly made a lucrative offer to secure his services. The Italian manager is anticipated to lead Al-Hilal in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, where Inter is set to compete starting June 17 against Monterrey, further raising the urgency for Inter to find his replacement, as noted by BBC, Channel News Asia, and Al Jazeera.
