The billionaire humorously explained that he received the injury from his son, X, saying, "I was horsing around with lil’ X, and I said, ‘go ahead, punch me in the face,’ and he did," during the event with former President Donald Trump, according to Huffpost and Reuters.

While some speculated that the black eye could be linked to rumors of drug misuse following a recent New York Times report, Musk's explanation focused purely on his playful interaction with his son. Trump echoed Musk's comments, stating "X could do it, if you knew X," referring to how playful the child can be, according to South China Morning Post and Times of India.

Musk playfully referenced French President Emmanuel Macron during the conference, joking, "I wasn’t anywhere near France," which drew laughter from attendees. He expressed his intention to remain a "friend and advisor" to Trump despite stepping away from his role in the Department of Government Efficiency, according to Times of India.
