A member of the Irish rap group Kneecap, Liam O'Hanna, also known as Mo Chara, has been charged with a terrorism-related offence after displaying a flag associated with the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah during a concert in London. The incident occurred on November 21, 2024, at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, as reported by the Metropolitan Police. O'Hanna, aged 27, faces court proceedings at Westminster Magistrates' Court on June 18, according to BBC, Reuters, and Independent.

This charge follows a police investigation initiated after counter-terrorism units reviewed footage from the event, allegedly showing support for a proscribed organization. The Metropolitan Police stated that they were made aware of the video evidence on April 22, leading to the charges being authorized by the Crown Prosecution Service after their investigation, noted by Al Jazeera and India Times.

Kneecap has publicly distanced themselves from any support for Hamas or Hezbollah, stating, “We have never supported Hamas or Hezbollah and would not incite violence against any individual.” This statement came after accusations arose from video footage that allegedly showed members delivering inflammatory remarks, according to BBC, Independent, and Al Jazeera.
