  • A Ukrainian man has been charged with arson linked to UK PM Keir Starmer's properties.
  • Roman Lavrynovych faces three counts of arson with intent to endanger life.
  • Police investigations, led by counter-terrorism units, are ongoing.
  • A second person has been arrested in connection to the incidents.

A Ukrainian citizen, 21-year-old Roman Lavrynovych, was charged with arson in connection to fires at properties associated with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The charges include three counts of arson with intent to endanger life, stemming from fires in Kentish Town and Islington, London, according to South China Morning Post, Reuters, and Channel News Asia.

Lavrynovych appeared in Westminster Magistrates' Court, where he was remanded in custody until his next hearing on June 6 at the Old Bailey. British police had responded to a fire at Starmer's former residence in Kentish Town, causing no injuries but damaging property, as reported by Reuters and Channel News Asia.

Further complicating the case, a second suspect aged 26 was recently arrested at Luton Airport on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson related to these incidents. This underlines the seriousness of the investigation led by counter-terrorism police, as Lavrynovych’s actions involve properties connected to a significant political figure, according to Reuters.
