Halle Bailey, the actress known for her role in Disney's live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, has secured a temporary restraining order against rapper DDG, alleging ongoing abuse during their two-year relationship and after their breakup. The order was granted by a Los Angeles County judge on May 13, requiring DDG, whose full name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., to stay away from Bailey and their son, Halo, until a hearing on June 6, 2025, according to Channel News Asia.

In her court filings, Bailey, who is 25, accused Granberry, 27, of "physical, verbal, emotional, and financial abuse" throughout their relationship, particularly escalating after their split in October 2024. "I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son, Halo, from his ongoing abuse," Bailey stated in the documents reviewed by the Los Angeles Times Los Angeles Times.

Bailey recounted a specific incident in January where an argument led to physical violence as she attempted to secure their son in a car seat. She described a scenario where "things got physical between us," resulting in her tooth being chipped amid other injuries. The actress alleged that Granberry repeatedly insulted her, contributing to a charged atmosphere that culminated in physical confrontation, as detailed in her complaints BBC and Los Angeles Times.

The situation intensified in March when Bailey claimed DDG forcibly entered her home while she was caring for their sick child. Following a verbal altercation, he allegedly destroyed her Ring doorbell camera and prevented her from calling for help, prompting Bailey to file a police report due to his aggressive behavior. Bailey's legal filings also included claims that DDG has a history of using his social media platforms to "badmouth" her to his followers, creating a toxic environment online that results in her receiving threats Channel News Asia and Los Angeles Times.

The restraining order prohibits Granberry from owning any weapons and restricts his contact with Bailey and Halo through any means, including digital communication. There is a scheduled mediation for May 30 to discuss custody or visitation alternatives. If they do not come to a mutually agreeable plan, the court will intervene BBC and Los Angeles Times.
