Five police officers in Farrukhabad, UP, including an inspector and constables, have been booked for allegedly filing a fake case under the Arms Act.
The victim, Nand Kumar, was claimed to have been found with a pistol and subsequently imprisoned after the cops presented false evidence.
An internal investigation confirmed the officers' guilt in falsely implicating an innocent man, leading to an FIR under section 229 (1) for producing false evidence.
Complaints from the victim's brother prompted a deeper inquiry, revealing accusations of conspiracy between the police and local residents.
It was alleged that the officers staged an encounter by providing the victim with a gun and filming his attempt to flee.
