ISRO's PSLV-C60 Mission Ushers in New Era of Space Docking for India

On **December 30, 2024**, ISRO launched the **PSLV-C60 mission**, initiating a pivotal **Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX)**.
This mission successfully deployed two small satellites, **SDX01 (Chaser)** and **SDX02 (Target)**, into orbit shortly after liftoff.
The satellites will drift apart to about **20 km** before ISRO's planned docking attempt on **January 7, 2025**.
If successful, India will join the ranks of the **US, Russia,** and **China** in operational space docking capabilities.
ISRO's chairman expressed optimism about the mission, which is integral to future projects like **Chandrayaan-4** and the proposed **Bhartiya Antrish Sation (BAS)**.
