Aaron Boupendza, a talented striker for the Gabonese national football team, died at the age of 28 after reportedly falling from the 11th floor of a building in China, according to Africanews. The Gabonese Football Association (FEGAFOOT) confirmed his death in a statement, highlighting his impact in the sport.
Boupendza was playing for Zhejiang FC in the Chinese Super League, having joined the club in early 2025 from Romanian side Rapid Bucharest. The club stated that Boupendza died at his residence and is cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation regarding the circumstances of his death, reports CBS News.
Throughout his career, Boupendza garnered 35 caps for Gabon, including performances in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon where he scored one goal, according to BBC.
