Pro-Palestinian Activists Vandalize Trump's Scottish Golf Resort in Protest Against Gaza Plan

Credited from: BBC

  • Pro-Palestinian activists vandalized Trump's Turnberry golf resort, painting slogans against his Gaza plans.
  • The graffiti included "Gaza is not for sale" accompanied by paint damage to various resort structures.
  • Palestine Action claimed responsibility, criticizing Trump’s treatment of Gaza.
  • Police Scotland confirmed an investigation into the incident following damage reports.
  • Trump’s controversial proposal includes relocating Gaza’s population, which has drawn widespread condemnation.

In a dramatic act of political protest, pro-Palestinian activists from the group Palestine Action vandalized U.S. President Donald Trump's renowned golf resort, Turnberry, located in Scotland. This protest comes in direct response to Trump's recent statements suggesting the United States should take control over the Gaza Strip, a move that has been met with outrage from many, including Arab nations and human rights activists.

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the activists reportedly daubed red paint across the clubhouse while prominently displaying messages such as "Gaza is not for sale" on the lawn and damaging parts of the course. "To make that clear, we have shown him that his own property is not safe from acts of resistance," the group stated.

The vandalism was highlighted by the slogans which aimed to call attention to what many view as Trump's inappropriate characterization of Gaza as a territory up for sale or redevelopment. As described in a report by Channel News Asia, activists expressed that their actions were a necessary measure of resistance against what they labeled as ethnic cleansing.

Police Scotland confirmed it had received a report regarding the damage and has launched an investigation, but as yet, no arrests have been made. Meanwhile, the Trump organization labeled the actions as "a childish, criminal act" yet maintained that the resort would continue to operate without disruption.

Trump's comments in recent months, suggesting the U.S. could take ownership of Gaza and relocate its Palestinian population to neighboring countries, have prompted considerable backlash internationally. As reported by sources including South China Morning Post, many view this plan as fundamentally flawed and against international law.

Turnberry, a prestigious golf course that has seen its reputation intertwined with controversies surrounding Trump, has not hosted The Open Championship since his acquisition in 2014. Critics from various sectors continue to urge for accountability regarding his proposals, as Trump seems intent on reshaping the landscape of Gaza significantly.
