Colombian pop superstar Shakira has canceled her concert in Lima, Peru, after being hospitalized due to an abdominal condition, according to HuffPost. The singer, excited for her Latin American tour Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, announced her condition on social media, expressing her sorrow over not being able to perform.

Shakira was admitted to Clinica Delgado on Saturday night and revealed via Instagram that her doctors advised against performing due to health concerns. She stated, “I am very sad that I will not be able to take the stage today. I have been deeply emotional and excited about reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience,” as reported by Channel News Asia.

The singer arrived in Peru on Friday, having just completed two successful performances in Brazil, where she received a warm welcome from fans. Following her health revelation, Shakira reassured fans that she aims to recover soon, saying, “My plan is to perform this show as soon as possible. My team and the promoter are already working on a new date,” as per Africa News.

On Sunday, Shakira left the hospital, yet she remains optimistic about her recovery. She has continued to express gratitude toward her fans for their understanding during this time, noting, "Thank you all for your understanding, I love you all," according to an update from Newsweek. Shakira’s tour supports her latest album, which won Best Latin Pop Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards, showcasing her ability to channel her experiences into art.
